2014 Blogging Goals

It feels like 2014 only started and there's already almost a month that has passed. My birthday is also coming super fast as well (February 1st -- I'll be turning 21, eek!). Anyways, as I have a good feeling about 2014. It will hopefully be the year that my blog grows and I'll try my best to make it happen! And I know I have to work hard...

(image: We Heart It) ...one could be eating fruits while blogging ;) ahah!

So I want to tell you what are my blogging goals for this year...

1. Be more organised.
Always have like 3 posts ready in my drafts in advance. Don't go months without posting and not have a gap of more than 4 days. Post at least 10-15 posts a month. Use my organiser/journals/make lists.

2. Unique, different posts.
I really want to try to have unique post. I also want to try blogging a bit more about lifestyle and other interest that I have from time to time :)

3. Read more blogs.
I really want to take the time to read more and discover more blogs. Not just my reading list... (that I often don't have time to read and end having a weeks worth of blog posts to ready!). And comment more! Also, try to use Bloglovin more!

4. Improvements.
Improvement with my writing skills, organisation, photography and editing skills.

5. New blog design/New name(?).
Get a custom-made one or try to make it myself... For a few weeks, I've been thinking about changing my blog name, I like it, but I don't know if its suitable. What do you guys think; should I keep it? How do you like it? :)

5. Followers/Views/Posts.
GFC: 300 followers
Bloglovin: 300 followers
Twitter: 600 followers
Overall views: 20,000
Overall posts: 100 ++

Hope you keep reading my blog in 2014! If you ever want to talk to me you can on Twitter or email me at sparklethiscity@outlook.com

Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray

Hi beauties! Today I will be reviewing one of my favorite product: Urban Decay's Chill
Makeup Setting Spray.

It's no secret that Urban Decay's Chill Makeup Setting Spray is a loved product in the beauty community. Any setting spray by Urban Decay is loved. It's one product that I constantly repurchase. I don't always buy the same one but this time I bought Chill.

This product is perfect for drier or combination skin, which is exactly my skin type. It keeps your makeup from smudging, settling in fine lines and looking cakey. Makeup setting sprays is like hairspray for your face. Basically. Just spray it on your face and have no fear, your makeup will stay on for hours and hours.

It has Temperature Control Technology that ''chills'' the surface of the makeup to help keeping it like it was just applied. It also helps your skin looking glowy & dewy.

One of the thing that I really like about Urban Decay's Make Up Setting Spray is that it delivers a microfine mist that goes on lightly and it doesn't feel sticky or tight.

So, if you're looking for a setting spray, I would highly recommend this one!

TAG - The Beauty Blogger

(image: www.weheartit.com)

1. Name a beauty routine you barely do
Lipstick. It's not that I don't like lipstick or whatever. It's just that most of the time, specially early in the morning, I tend to forget.

2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
No - but I really really really need to do it more often.

3. How long will you last with chip nails?
It depends. If I'm just staying in, I don't really care. But honestly, I don't let it happen that often.

4. How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty or nail polish product even if you need it? (i.e. top coat, foundation and so on)
If it's an essential, I don't wait at all - really try to get it as soon as possible!

5. What’s your worst beauty habit?
Not doing enough masks and exfoliating.

6. Name something non beauty related you put off doing all of the time.
Dishes - it's one of the most annoying thing.

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?
Not unless it's last minute. I really don't like rushing.

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
I've never been on one really. I'm just trying to buy less and use more. But if I want something enough, I'll buy it.

9. How organised are your makeup and nail polish collections?
It was better - but since I've moved it's pretty unorganised, sadly. I need better organizers and space. For nailpolish, I just don't know how to organise it.

10. What is the longest time you’ve gone without writing a blog post?
Like months. Sadly.

Top 5 of 2013 - Skincare

Hi lovelies! Hope you're all having a lovely week! Today, I'll be looking back at what saved my skin in 2013. Throughout 2013, I've been having trouble with dry skin and a bit of acne. So let's see what has helped me!

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution - I don't I have to talk much about this one, because every bloggers raves about it! It's a makeup remover that removes ALL of your makeup, and cleanse so your left with a fresh face and no makeup at all.

Origins Drink Up 10 minute mask to quench skin's thirst - When I went to the Sephora to purchase this, I was looking for the overnight mask, but it wasn't available. The lady suggested me this one: 10 minute mask to quench skin's thirst. It works wonder! Anytime you have dry skin, this will help. Put it on, wait for 10 minutes or more (I always put it on for more than 10 minutes or use it overnight as well), then rinse it off. This smells like apricot, which is wonderful smell. The tube might seem small but it will last forever.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum - 2013 has been the year that I have been trying out more skincare. The Body Shop is one brand that I recently truly discovered (thanks for blogs), and been loving. The Body Shop isn't that expensive and has great stuff. This serum is described as a pre-moisturiser. It's a great product for people with dry skin that get rids of dry patches. Plus, it sinks in quickly and isn't greasy.

Freeman Refining Facial Cleanser - This leaves my skin looking fresh, feeling super soft while fighting off acne. The smell of this is amazing - smells like pears. This is hands down one of the best cleanser. It will improve your skin texture and balance your skin. It is a very gentle cleanser as well. Hopefully it's not discontinued cause I rarely see it.

N7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Balm - This a great cleansing balm that leaves face super soft. This balm has a light and lovely scent to it. Leaves dry skin feeling smooth. It removes all make-up as well.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in R.S.V.P.

Hi beauties! Hope you all had a great week and now are ready to enjoy the weekend! Today I'll be reviewing Benefit's Creaseless Cream Shadow in R.S.V.P.

This is my go to cream shadow when I want a quick and easy look that brighten up my makeup. R.S.V.P. is a pinky beige shimmery/champagne color, it's not the most opaque cream shadow ever, but pigmented enough to wear it on its own... Its not as pigmented as MAC eyeshadows. It does slightly crease though, so make sure to put a primer!

The texture is different than MAC Paint Pot or Maybelline Color Tattoo I would say its more creamier, which is why it'd crease more easily... The problem with creasing isn't that bad, but when you're used to Color Tattoos that don't crease at all it can be a little dissapointing.

Here's a swatch of R.S.V.P.

Overall, it's a gorgeous cream shadow but the fact that it's not creaseless as it says is kinda dissapointing. And can we mention how cute the packaging is?

Top 5 of 2013 - Makeup

Hi beauties! Today I'm doing the first part of my series: Top 5 of 2013. The makeup part. It was really hard to choose only 5 products! But I think those I've been used/loved alot during 2013. I plan on doing a Top 5 on: Skincare, Haircare, Favorite Albums (?), Nailpolish, Perfumes. Not too sure if I'll do all of them but let me know if you're interested.

Urban Decay Naked Palette // Of course I have to have my super loved Naked palette (so loved that I hit pan on 4 eyeshadows!!). I don't really need to explain it as I'm sure everyone is pretty familiar with this palette. But I can say that it's really my go to palette, super easy to use when you're in a rush! My favorite shadow would have to be Sin, which I use everyday.

Maybelline Color Whisper in Lust for Blush // Color Whispers are one of my favorite lip product. They are pure color pigment suspended in a weightless gel. (described by Maybelline). They are similar to Revlon lip butters (another favorite) but they aren't as heavy. This color is a pretty medium pink nude, which is like a ''my lips but better" lipstick.

Benefit High Beam Highlighter // You can put this on the top of your cheekbones, under your eyebrows, down the bridge of your nose or anywhere you'd like to put accent on your face. It's perfect to add a healthy, dewy glow. Very easy to use as well: just put a dot and then blend it in your skin.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the bronze // Color tattoos are great eye product. It's a cream eyeshadow that last all day and doesn't crease. It's a gorgeous light bronze. Can be used as a base for eyeshadows or alone. It looks great on its own, but for a quick, simple look - just add Smog or Darkhorse from the Naked palette.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion // This is a staple in my collection. My eyeshadow last all day with this and does not crease at all. If your looking for an eyeshadow primer, I recommend this one!

Here are some swatches:

I think I could've had more than 20 products, but this post would have been way too long. Hope you all had an amazing 2013 and that 2014 is even better!

What is your favorite beauty product from 2013?

Also, please let me know if you'd be interested in seeing other Top 5 posts. :)

Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014

Happy new year everyone!
Hope 2014 is filled with joy, love and health. I don't know about you guys but 2014 sounds hopeful. Might be because there's not a number in that's not even in elevators. ha.

Can we all think for a second about how 2013 went by so quickly? Like I'm still writing 2012. Jk. What can I say about 2013, the least I can say is that it was an eventful year. Not really in the best way. But the things I have learned in 2013 can only make me stronger and better for the year to come.

2013 - looking back.
*The year I turned 20. I'm no longer a teenager. Say what?
*Started college and moving away from home.
*I can say that it's in 2013 that I really started blogging because in 2012, I started at the end of the year.
*Took the bus all by myself.
*Got ombre hair that I've been wanting FOREVER.

2014- resolutions.
I have never actually WROTE down resolutions... well not that I remember. So now that I'm a blogger, well, it seems only normal to do it. I had some before but I feel  like if you don't write them down you wont really remember them in a week.

*Read more books: I used to love to read. But I don't take the time do it anymore. There's alot of books I want to read, enough for the rest of my life, but I just don't read them. But this year I will make the time to sit down, drink coffee and just read.

*Spend less and use more products: I feel like I have an overwhelming collection of beauty products enough for the rest of my life. I really want to down-size my collection before I buy some more... which is kinda hard when you're a beauty blogger, but I will try! Not saying I'm going on a spending ban but just want to buy less specially beauty products.

*Exercise/Eat healthy/Drink more water/Get in shape: This one is on almost everyone's resolutions list. But I really want to get back in shape and on track. Eat more fruits and vegetables, etc. This is the year where I'll be the weight that I want.

*Adventures: Life is either an adventure or nothing at all. This year I really want to be more adventurous whether it's for trying out different foods, learn more about food, travelling, trying new things and being fearless. Really need to stop putting things off.

*Take more time for myself: This is one thing I never really do. But this year I really need to take some down time to just relax a bit and catch my breath. I feel like I'm always so busy and I really don't see the time passing.

*Take more pictures and take better photos: I used to be always taking pictures! Then for some reason I just didn't anymore. I used to be into photography, but I just stopped. I really want to take more pictures and make memories lasts. For my blog, I'd really like to improve my pictures and learn more about my camera.

These are just some of my resolutions/goals. I could go on but no one would read it. haha! It'll be cool to look back in 2015 (wow) and see what I have changed and achieved. The thing I really want to point out is enjoy everyday because next thing we know it'll be 2015 and we'll all be talking about how it went by so fast...

Also, I plan on doing beauty and blog resolutions :)

What are your resolutions/goals this year?

Here's to a new year!
