Current Essentials

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a great summer! Today I will be talking to you about the products I feel like I NEED in my life! haha!

First off, Urban Decay Naked Basics / I adore this multi tasking palette. I'm a big fan of Urban Decay's Naked line. I can use this palette for a daily eye (& night) makeup look, for my eyebrows I use faint, for my under eye I can use foxy and as a liner I can use crave. Need I say more why it's an essential?!

NYX butter gloss / Those two colors are super natural and easy to apply on the go. I love the soft non-sticky texture of these. It feels more like a balm, but looks glossy like lipgloss. They are pigmented enough while remaining natural. They have a great smell as well.

Maybelline Color tattoo in Bad to the bronze / I love this long-lasting bronzey cream shadow. I love using this as an everyday eyeshadow. Whenever you're in a rush, you just need to use this and it will look as if you spent alot of time on your eyeshadow look.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder / I use this powder everyday - it works wonder. For the low price, I can't complain. Specially for the summer, it controls shine.

MAC pro longwear paintpot in Bare Study / This a staple for many people, a pretty beige champagne eyeshadow cream. Easy to work with, just apply it all over your lid and a light brown in the crease and you're ready to go.

MAC blush in Gingerly / This blush is great for the summer - it can act as a blush and a bronzer. Super easy and quick to use.

Benefit Gimme Brow fiber gel / This brow fiber gel is great. Helps your brows stay in place and look more volumised.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion / This product is one of my all time must have product. Whenever I wear eyeshadow I need my primer potion, otherwise my eyeshadow will crease. This will make your eyeshadow creaseless and make the color appear more vibrant!

Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy Rides Again eyeshadow // Review

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been blogging lately - I have been so busy! But anyways, I'm back! Today I will be reviewing an Urban Decay eyeshadow - Midnight Cowboy Rides Again. I've always wanted to try more eyeshadows from Urban Decay as I love their Naked palettes, can't go wrong.. right? I especially wanted to try this shade for the longest time! So let's see what I think about it.

First off, can we take a moment to appreciate the gorgeous packaging? Well I'm gonna tell you right now that not only the packaging is pretty, but the shade as well. A light pinkish champagne shimmer with silver glitter? Yes, please! The perfect rose gold.

It has a great staying power. Be aware that it has glitter, it's pretty, but wow, there's a lot of fallout. The only negative thing I have to say about it. Other than that, it's such a pretty eyeshadow.. so, who cares?

Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray

Hi beauties! Today I will be reviewing one of my favorite product: Urban Decay's Chill
Makeup Setting Spray.

It's no secret that Urban Decay's Chill Makeup Setting Spray is a loved product in the beauty community. Any setting spray by Urban Decay is loved. It's one product that I constantly repurchase. I don't always buy the same one but this time I bought Chill.

This product is perfect for drier or combination skin, which is exactly my skin type. It keeps your makeup from smudging, settling in fine lines and looking cakey. Makeup setting sprays is like hairspray for your face. Basically. Just spray it on your face and have no fear, your makeup will stay on for hours and hours.

It has Temperature Control Technology that ''chills'' the surface of the makeup to help keeping it like it was just applied. It also helps your skin looking glowy & dewy.

One of the thing that I really like about Urban Decay's Make Up Setting Spray is that it delivers a microfine mist that goes on lightly and it doesn't feel sticky or tight.

So, if you're looking for a setting spray, I would highly recommend this one!

Top 5 of 2013 - Makeup

Hi beauties! Today I'm doing the first part of my series: Top 5 of 2013. The makeup part. It was really hard to choose only 5 products! But I think those I've been used/loved alot during 2013. I plan on doing a Top 5 on: Skincare, Haircare, Favorite Albums (?), Nailpolish, Perfumes. Not too sure if I'll do all of them but let me know if you're interested.

Urban Decay Naked Palette // Of course I have to have my super loved Naked palette (so loved that I hit pan on 4 eyeshadows!!). I don't really need to explain it as I'm sure everyone is pretty familiar with this palette. But I can say that it's really my go to palette, super easy to use when you're in a rush! My favorite shadow would have to be Sin, which I use everyday.

Maybelline Color Whisper in Lust for Blush // Color Whispers are one of my favorite lip product. They are pure color pigment suspended in a weightless gel. (described by Maybelline). They are similar to Revlon lip butters (another favorite) but they aren't as heavy. This color is a pretty medium pink nude, which is like a ''my lips but better" lipstick.

Benefit High Beam Highlighter // You can put this on the top of your cheekbones, under your eyebrows, down the bridge of your nose or anywhere you'd like to put accent on your face. It's perfect to add a healthy, dewy glow. Very easy to use as well: just put a dot and then blend it in your skin.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the bronze // Color tattoos are great eye product. It's a cream eyeshadow that last all day and doesn't crease. It's a gorgeous light bronze. Can be used as a base for eyeshadows or alone. It looks great on its own, but for a quick, simple look - just add Smog or Darkhorse from the Naked palette.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion // This is a staple in my collection. My eyeshadow last all day with this and does not crease at all. If your looking for an eyeshadow primer, I recommend this one!

Here are some swatches:

I think I could've had more than 20 products, but this post would have been way too long. Hope you all had an amazing 2013 and that 2014 is even better!

What is your favorite beauty product from 2013?

Also, please let me know if you'd be interested in seeing other Top 5 posts. :)

REVIEW | Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

If you're reading this, it's probably because you're apart of the beauty community... you probably: have a blog, read blogs, watch YouTube videos and have a big collection of makeup! So it's obvious that you already know all about this product, know how great it is and probably own it too! The product that I'm talking about is obviously the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion which I will be reviewing and rave about it like everybody in the beauty world! Haha!

To start off, what do you guys think of my creative photos? Ahaha, I'm so proud of them-- I adore how it's all light purple. So pretty! Need to start getting more creative with my pictures!

Okay, now on to the review. This product is wonderful. It's one of my must-have. This is my second one. I've had a small one with the classic packaging with original Naked Palette. Which I must admit that the classic packaging looked much cooler, but at the end it'd be harder to take out the product and you'd end losing some. So for this part, this packaging is way better; since you don't end up losing any product. But the application with the classic one was way better since it had a wand.

Without this product, my eyeshadow WILL crease during the day. This primer will make your eyeshadow more pigmented/vibrant and stay on all day without creasing at all. It will smoothly glide on your eyelid. Yes, it can be quite expensive (24$), but you only need a really small quantity so the tube will last a really long time!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in ''Original'':
Urban Decay has four Primer Potion to their collection. I have the original one. As you can see on the picture, it kinda looks nude when you swatch it but, it dries down invisible.

Overall, this is one of my must-have. It's great also if you have an event/prom/wedding/night out to attend. But for me, I use it on a daily basis and I couldn't live without it. Primer is essential for me and it makes all the difference!

Favourites | July

Hi beauties! I'm back on track with my favorites. I didn't get the change to do my June Favorites cause I wasn't home. Which made me sad because I love my favorites with ya'll! I can't believe we're already the month of August! I literally feel like Summer just started, so weird! Anyways let's get into what I've been loving for the month of July.

For Summer, I've been loving light, coral and glowy makeup.

|Tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in Tipsy|
During the Summer, I seem to be using up my corals/orange stuff! Even though I use it all year-long; I find that with a tan it looks G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S! Anyhow this blush is a matte coral, seems like a scary color but it's not.  It's pigmented but it remains somewhat sheer.  Oh, also, how cute is the packaging? If you want to have more information, I have a full review on this product here.
Wet N' Wild Cream Shadow in Pixie: This is one product that I always stop using for a long period of time and then fall back in love with it and wonder why I stopped using it. I love using this cream shadow in the inner corner of my eyes; it makes me look more awake!

|Wet N Wild Blusher in Pearlescent Pink|
Another blush I reach out for during the Summer season. It looks great year-long, but it looks gorgeous with a tan! It's the perfect medium pink color with gold shimmer in it. Just enough shimmer to give you a nice glow. This blush is pigmented and has great staying power. As all the other Wet N' Wild blushes.

|Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait|
I just included this Lip Butter in my latest blogpost (here), a medium peachy shade with gold glitter. It's a perfect color for the summer, but it's one of my favorite lipstick of all time!

|Benefit the POREfessional primer|
This primer minimizes pore quickly. The cool thing is that is minimizes my pores even when I don't have it on. So I guess you consider it almost like a skincare product. It has a really nice silky texture. Also, I have a review up on my blog right here.

|Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion|
This is cult favorite in the beauty community. This primer will make your eyeshadow last all day without creasing and also make any eyeshadow appear more pigmented and brighter.

|Covergirl Clean Whipped Creme Foundation|
This is a great foundation for the Summer months, it's airy and light. The mousse-like/whipped texture makes the application super simple. Does not look cakey and it looks very natural; it almost feels as if you have no foundation on. It doesn't change color throughout the day, which is great. The only thing I don't like is that the product goes down so quickly! Haven't had it for that long and I'm almost out of it. I have a full review right here.

|Stila In The Light Eyeshadow Palette|
I've been wanting this palette for the longest time and I finally got it a few weeks ago. I love it! It comes with 10 shades and a Stila eyeliner in Damsel. I love it! I won't say much about it since I've only got it a few weeks ago and plan on doing a full review on it.

Hope you enjoyed my July Favorites. What did you love in the month of July!?

March favorites

Hi beauties! Wow, already time for another favorites of the month! I feel like this year is gonna go by fast, kinda scary. But anyways, here is the thing I've been loving in March! Hope you enjoy!

Lip products:
L'Oréal Balm Colour Riche in Heavenly Berry: I love berry colored lipstick. This is very sheer so it's great for everyday use and moisturizes at the same time.

Maybelline Color Whisper: This is like a ''my lips but better'' color. It's perfect for everyday use. The formula is light, which is awesome for spring. Love them. I plan on doing a full review on those soon, so watch out for that!

Buxom lipgloss in Creamsicle: If you don't know this yet: I'm a big coral fan. Especially during the Spring and Summer. I really like this gloss.

Rimmel Scandaleyes in Nude: This is pretty much all over the beauty community and for a good reason; it's so pretty on the waterline and it brightens up the eyes.

Wet N' Wild blush in Heather Silk: Really a pretty blush and it adds a nice glow to the skin. Super pigmented also.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette: This is the newest Naked palette from UD, includes mostly matte shades. For some reason, I've been really liking matte eyeshadows and this is a great palette.

Origins Drink Up 10 minute mask to quench skin's thirst: I've been having trouble with dry skin lately. This has been a great for that. I apply it for 10 minutes on clean skin then rinse it off and I have smoother skin. You can also put it on overnight and wash it off in the morning (still need to try that). It has a great smell, also!

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in Vanilla: This is a great foundation. Feels light on skin while having some coverage. Great for Spring!

Benefit Watt's Up! Highlighter: This is a great highlighter with a champagne glow. I love how I can notice the glow but it's not too much. I plan on buying the full size when I'm done with my beauty insider gift.

Maybelline Color tattoo in Barely Beige: This is a soft beige color with a golden frost finish! Been using it everyday. Versatile cream shadow.

Lise Watier Ombre Soufflé Suprême in Taupe Fantasia: I think that the brand Lise Watier is a brand you can only get in Canada. This is one of the most unique eyeshadow 'cream' I've seen. It's  long lasting eyeshadow part cream/part mousse. Light airy formula, gives a great glow for luminous eyes. What a great product, Lise Watier!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion: Who hasn't heard of this amazing product? This is the best primer ever, it makes eyeshadow stay on ALL DAY, absolutely no creasing and makes colors appear more vibrant!

Benefit mascara They're real!: I love this mascara. I will surely buy the full size when I'm out of this. Jet-black, glossy mascara that curls, volumizes and seperates lashes! Volume and length.  What more could you ask for? The custom-domed is one thing that makes this mascara outstanding: you can get precise applications for those tiny lashes you can't usually get.

Haul: Beauty, Nailpolish, Haircare, Skincare & Candles

Hi lovelies! So, yesterday I went shopping out of town! They have tons of stores we don't have, beauty-wise and clothing-wise! So it's always a bliss shopping there.

Sephora: This is actually the most I've bought at Sephora in one day. There's ALOT of things I want, trust me. I wanted to buy a palette, but since I bought the Naked Basics a few weeks ago, I thought that it was a bit unnecessary for the moment. So I've picked out more things that I've been meaning to try for a while.

1. Sephora by OPI nailpolish/top coat in Only Gold for Me: This is a gold glitter top coat, with different sizes of glitter.

2. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion: This is actually the first full-size UDPP that I buy! I had a small version of it with my Naked palette. I never got around to buying a full size but I did yesterday and I'm so happy about that.

3. Sephora instant moisturizer: My skin has been so dry lately so I'm trying the perfect moisturizer, hopefully this is a good one.

4. Origins Drink Up 10 minute mask to quench skin's thirst: I've been wanting to try Origins products for a while, they are so popular on the blogosphere. I've been wanting to try the Overnight version of this, but for some reasons, it was not at my Sephora. The person said that it was great and so did the reviews online so I'm happy to see if this will cure my dry skin!!

5. Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Cream in Creamsicle: So many people raves about Buxom lip creams (esp. Creamsicle), so I knew I had to have it (can you say make-up addict? oops.) It tingles, plumps and shines.

6. Duo Eyelash Adhesive: I started practicing applying false eyelashes a few weeks ago and this is known being the best eyelash glue and I needed one, perfect timing right?
(Don't mind my chipped nails, need to redo them asap. Btw, if you're wondering it's Bahama Mama by Essie.)
As you can see, it's pretty peachy/coral color.

The next things I bought them at a haircare/hairdresser/cosmetic counter. Not Sephora, but I'm not sure if it's a local business so I won't mention it. But here's what I bought:
1. Macademia Healing Oil Treatment: I needed a new oil for my hair. Since Macademia is a really good brand, I felt like this a worth a try!

2. Macademia Deep Repair Masque: So happy I finally got my hands on this. This is such a great product!
OPI Nail polish in Mod about you: You can't really see it in the picture. But it's a light pink with blue undertones, kinda? It's super gorgeous in the bottle, I hope it will be as gorgeous on my nails and not be a bad experience like all my other light pink nail polish.

I'm obsessed with Bath & Body Works candles. I bought two small ones: Market Peach and Strawberry! They have the best smell, I can't even describe it.

Hope you all enjoyed my haul!

First online Sephora order

Hey lovelies! I'm so happy, today, I received my first Sephora order! The closest Sephora to my town is like 2 hours away. Since I didn't go to that Sephora 2 weeks before or after my birthday, I didn't want to lose my beauty insider gift. So I bought one thing (I would have bought more, but I bought so much makeup lately, I need to calm myself a bit aha), I bought the Urban Decay Naked Basics! Aside from my birthday gift I got a bunch of samples, I was very pleased with them, and I will surely order from Sephora online again! :)

Here's an overview of everything I got.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette: This is the only thing I ordered. It was on my wishlist of numerous beauty things I want, the decision was hard, but it was only 32$ (which is not expensive if you're familiar with Sephora) and I got my beauty insider birthday gift and numerous samples. I'm in LOVE with the packaging, it's super cute. As I only got it today, I have not had the chance to try it that much, so I won't do a review right now, but I will soon.

Benefit real birthday turns-on including Benefit They're Real! mascara and Watt's Up soft focus highlighter for face: I was super excited when I saw that this was the beauty insider birthday gift for this year, because I've been wanting to try these products for SO long. Maybe I could do a review of those two products and tell you girls if I will buy the full-size product? Let me know! This is actually my first time having a Sephora beauty insider, super exciting, right? Haha!

Too Faced Glamour Gloss Volumizing lip gloss with lip injection Comfort Plump in Flirt: As the name says, it's a plumping gloss, the color is a pretty neutral pink! Seems like a color I will use alot.

3 samples: I'm not positive but I think that you can always have 3 samples when you order on Sephora. So these are the ones I chose:

  • Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Radiance
  • Soap & Glory Face Soap and Clarity 3-in-1 Daily-detox vitamin c facial wash
  • Justin Bieber's Girlfriend Perfume
Hope you enjoyed seeing my first online Sephora order. I will be doing some review, I will do one about the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette for sure! And I was very please with the online service from Sephora and I will surely make a bigger order! haha. If you want any other reviews or more information let me know! xoxo

2012 favorites

Hi beauties

So, another year has gone by! Time seems to fly by! I've been watching beauty/fashion videos on youtube for ages. And I've been a fan of fashion/makeup for a long time also. But I feel like my passion has truly begin in the past years. I knew about the beauty community on youtube for a long time, but I just discovered the beauty/fashion community in the month of November, and I'm so excited to take the ride! :)

I will be doing my best products of 2012, this will be so hard; considering I've discovered so many products I love. But here it goes!

Eye products:

Urban Decay Naked Palette: You've probably all seen it. Amazing color selection, amazing palette. Amazing amazing amazing. Need to say more?

Maybelline Color Tattoo: Stays on all day, never creases. I love them all, but Bad to the bronze and Barely Beige are the one I use the most because I love neutral colors and those are perfect for everyday use.

MAC eyeshadow in Woodwinked: I love this eyeshadow; such a gorgeous color. It is my first MAC purchase, I don't have a store that sell mac close to me, so I'm thinking about ordering online!

Lancome Hypnose Mascara: I really fell in love with Lancome mascaras this year. This is one of my most used one and I plan on trying out some more of that brand.

Maybelline Line Stiletto in Blackest Black: Love this liquid liner. Thanks to this mascara I can now apply eyeliner with no difficulties.

Wet N' Wild Idoleyes in Pixie: This is a cream eyeshadow. It's literally perfect. Perfect color. Put it in your inner corner and it'll brighten your eyes like nothing else would.

Urban Decay Primer Potion: If you want your eyeshadow to last all day, this is the solution. I'm actually out of it and need to pick one as soon as possible.

Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit: I can't tell you guys how much I love this product. Some people think eyebrows aren't a 'daily' thing but, trust me, when you'll try this you'll be hooked.

Covergirl eyeshadow trio in Shimmering Sands: Such beautiful colors for an everyday use.

Face products:

Rimmel Lasting Finish in Pink Sorbet: A really nice everyday color, it gives such a natural glow to my face. I plan on buying more blush from Rimmel this year. Love it!

NYX Concealer in a jar: As the name says it, it's a concealer in jar and it's my first time using one. It does a great job at concealing your imperfection.

Benefit High Beam: I haven't tried many highlighters to say it's the best of the best, but I know enough to say it's a wonderful product.

Lip products:

Maybelline Baby Lips: I have all the original collection and I love them all. So amazing, moisturizing and give a nice touch of color!

Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain: I have 2 of those and I love them so much! I plan on buying some more.

Revlon Lip Butter: I have so many of these and I just can't get enough of them. It's between a gloss and a lipstick, so, if you're not used to wearing lipstick, I believe that this is the perfect thing for you!

MAC Lipstick in Angel: This made me fall in love with MAC lipstick. Perfect color. I really need to try more MAC products this year.

Hope you enjoyed! It was really hard trying to pick my favorites cause as I said I have so many favorites and I didn't want to make this too long. Can't wait to see what 2013 will bring, including beauty products! ;)

2) Urban Decay Primer Potion: I've used up mine so I need a new one.

3) Stila In the light palette: It is such a beautiful palette. The colors are beautiful and I've been wanting to try the shade 'kitten' for the longest time.

REVIEW: Urban Decay Naked Palette

Hi beauties! Today I'm doing my first review on the famous: Naked Palette by Urban Decay. This palette is one of most known in the beauty world.
Every has seen the famous dark brown velvety casing with the gold capitals. So classy. But the packaging can get a bit dirty, but it really does seem worst on the picture, trust me! It really doesn't look like that in real life, so I don't mind the beautiful velvet.
I've had this palette for quite a while now. I bought it when I went to New York, at the Sephora in Time Square (it was the first time I bought something at Sephora... cause we didn't use to have on close to where I live!). As you can see I've used it quite a bit, I've hit pan on three eyeshadows (Sin, Naked, Half Baked). It's such a nice palette, you can do a variety of looks with it from: neutral day-to-day look to dark smokey eye to summery bronzy looks.

It's a must-have for every makeup lover out there! Also, if you're a beginner looking for a nice palette at Sephora, I would say this is a winner. You won't regret it and you'll end up using it everyday. :)

What is your favorite eyeshadow from the UD Naked Palette?

XO, Caroline
