REVIEW & SWATCHES | Maybelline Baby Lips

Hi beauties! Today I will be doing a review on the Maybelline Baby Lips. I am sure that you've seen blogger/gurus rave about these! As you are probably all familiar, they are a sheer tinted lip balm with wonderful smells and cute packaging. They have 6 original ones: 2 sheers, 4 with a tint (yes, I have all the 6 originals). They also have some limited editions one.

As I mentioned, the packaging is ADORABLE. For the name, Baby Lips, they really do make your lips baby soft while giving color to your lips without being too much. Those lovely lipbalms makes it seem like your wearing lipgloss without being sticky. The 6 original ones (6 first ones in the picture) contains spf 20, and I believe the limited edition ones doesn't contain spf (atleast the two I have don't). These are perfect for the upcoming summer, because they have spf and are really light and hydrating on the lips.

They are really easy to work with and they apply nicely. They are thin but they do not feel greasy on the lips.

Pigmentation: In the original Baby Lips they are two clear ones. The rest have a tint to them. They are not pigmented like lipsticks that's for sure. They are called lipbalm for a reason, I would call them balm with a tint. Some are more pigmented than others. The most pigmented one out of the one I have, I would say is Fruit Punch. The least pigmented I would say is Coral Crush, on my lips its almost inexistant; in the tube it looks super bright as Grape Vine, that looks like a super dark purple which in fact are not that pigmented. So don't be scared of the color in the tube, cause they are way more sheer on the lips.

Scents: One thing that Baby Lips is known for is their scents. And yes, infact, they have lovely smells. I'm not the best at describing scent especially with words so I won't even try. But the smells are quite similar to what they are named after like Fruit Punch, well, smells like Fruit Punch. The clear Baby Lips also have a smell Quenched smells wonderful; I can smell some lemon; I'm not a big fan of lemon but there's something about Quenched that makes me happy. Peppermint smells like well, strong peppermint which I absolutely adore.

How long do they stay on the lips?: This one is kinda of a bummer. They certainly do not last all day. They last about 3-4 hours for me. But on the positive side, it's really easy to apply anywhere/anytime without a mirror, since the application is super easy. Don't be scared of ending up with clown lips with those! ahah!

Original Baby Lips:
Pink Punch: Pigmented cool tone pink
Cherry Me: Warm pink
Grape Vine: Dark purple wine
Peach Kiss: Shimmery nude on the frosty side
Quenched and Peppermint: Clear *not on picture above*

Limited Edition Baby Lips:
Yummy Plummy: Brownish and plum shade
Coral Crush: Bright red orange

I love them all, but if I had to choose favorites, I would pick: Cherry Me, Peach Kiss and Yummy Plummy.

To conclude, I am super happy about my Baby Lips collection. For about 3 dollars, you really cannot go wrong with these. Super hydrating, nice smell, spf20, cutest packaging and nice colors. What more could you ask for?

Review | NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Boho Chic

Hi beauties! Today, I will be reviewing one of my favorite product at the moment (or one of my favorite blush of all time): NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Boho Chic.

I love neutral make up product, but still visible. I would describe the color as a light cool pink has a slight bit of micro glitter (I'm not the biggest fan of glittery blushes, but I hardly notice it) gives a dewy and glowy look. It's a beautiful natural color. If you're into dewy and glowy look, I would suggest to pair it up with Benefit High Beam! This product is perfect for Spring/Summer because it's not too powdery.

If you're a beginner with cream blushes, this is very easy to work with and blend out. I don't use a specific brush, most of the time, I will use my fingers and it's super easy to blend out. PS: On the picture it doesn't look pigmented, but it really is, I just had a hard time truly capturing the color!

The packaging, I LOVE it. It's sleek, reminds me of MAC packaging! I love how you can see the color. The name (Boho Chic) is really cute! (If you didn't knew, I love anything hippie/boho/indie.)

I love NYX products and I really want too try more products from them! Those cream blushes are no exception!

What's your favorite NYX product?

Empties #2

Hi lovelies,

Today I'm doing another empties post. Am I the only one who gets super happy about those posts? I love when I finish a product/hit pan (which rarely happens). For me, it's kinda like an accomplishment because it means I love a product/used my money for a good thing. As a beauty blogger, I have tons of makeup, so it's refreshing to use some up to buy some more! HAHA ;) So let's start!

ELF makeup mist: It was an okay makeup mist: not the worst, not the best. Made my makeup less cakey and made it stay on all day. The smell was bit odd, though, it bothered me. For the price, I would repurchase, but they don't sell any ELF products, so next time I'm out of town I plan on buying an Urban Decay One at Sephora.

KORRES Face Primer sample: I just got like three uses out of this sample so I can't really give a good review. It was good, liked how it felt on and made me realize that I need to try more Korres products.

Aussie Sprunch Mouse Leave-in conditioner: As curly/wavy haired girl, this is one of my favorite mousse to achieve beachy wavy hair, not only does it conditions your hair but leaves it soft without that annoying crunchy feeling. As all Aussie products, the smell is great.

Evian Spray: During this time of the year, I love a good facial spray and this one, is a great one! I often get them on sale for like, 3$ at my local Wal-Mart, that's a great deal since they're usually around 20$! This actually replaced my ELF makeup mist until I get an Urban Decay one: leaves my face not cakey and moisturizes/refreshes! I just LOVE this product.

Bath & Body Works Winter Candy Apple Shower Gel: Don't get me wrong, I love Winter Candy Apple by B&BW, but it was time for a new spring/summer shower gel! I will surely repurchase this one during the holiday season.

Bath & Body Winter Candy Apple Anti-Bacterial Gel: Same thing as the shower gel,  I love the smell but for spring/summer, it's about time that I've used them up! I go through these little PocketBac so much! Love them.

Exact Facial Cleansing Cloths: Great makeup wipes, for the price I would repurchase! I still haven't found the BEST makeup wipes yet, what are your favorites?

Hope you enjoyed this post! If you did not see my latest post, I have a new Twitter and Instagram for my blog :) So if you don't follow me over there, please do xx

New Twitter & Instagram / Explanation

Hi!

As you may have noticed before I used to put my "personal" Twitter & Instagram. But I have discovered the #bbloggers community on those two social media, but I didn't want to annoy people who have no clue what the beauty community is, so in fact, I did a new Twitter & Instagram for my beauty blog. They are both @sparklethiscity.

On another note, I don't know about you guys, but nobody in real life know about my love for blogging and the beauty community. Some just think that I really like makeup, which I do, but they have no idea that I blog/read blogs/watch youtube videos. Some people just dont get it. Why spend so much money on makeup? Meanwhile, I feel like some people might judge me and/or have a little laugh. I don't want to be known as "the girl who loves makeup" because I am a big lover of very different things. And that is why on my beauty Twitter and Instagram, there will be more to it than beauty but alot more beauty than on personal ones. I am not gonna stop using my personal ones, so if you still follow me there, that's cool!

I hope you guys understand. Hopefully I'm not the only one that feels this way.

So PLEASE follow my new Twitter & Instagram, or you can still email me, at the same email.

Under 15 minutes make up

Hi beauties! Lately I've been super busy and have had no time to actually take time to do/experiment with my make up (which I love doing!). So I will be explaining you how I reach a make up that looks like you've spent alot of time on it, but it will just take 15 minutes! This look will feature a flawless, natural face and one eye product that can make a wonderful eye look on its own.
#1) Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in Vanilla #2) Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer #3) Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Pressed Powder #4) Lise Watier Ombre Soufflé Suprême in Taupe Fantasia #5) Lise Watier Sweet Lips Yummy Lip Balm in Berries #6)Benefit They're Real Mascara #7) Maybelline Master Duo Eyeliner

First off, I apply my Revlon Nearly Naked foundation. If I am not in a big rush, I will blend it in with Real Techniques brush. Then I apply my Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer on my under eyes circle and imperfections. To set my foundation and concealer, I am using my current go to powder that I absolutely adore: Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Pressed Powder. Then, I move on to the eyes. So if I'm running late I don't want to take alot of time doing eye makeup, but as an eyeshadow lover, I don't feel right without something on my eyelids. Lately I've been picking out Lise Watier Ombre Soufflé Suprême in Taupe Fantasia which I absolutely adore, just sweep it across your lids and it looks like you've took a few extra minutes to do your makeup! I usually apply this at the beginning: Lise Watier Sweet Lips in Berries, which is nice pick me up in the morning: such a lovely smell and super moisturizing. I actually apply eyeliner before mascara; but the mascara I've been using lately is Benefit They're Real. And last but not least: eyeliner. This part may be hard to do if you're an a rush and a beginner but the Maybelline Master Duo Liquid Eyeliner is great, I barely never mess up my eyeliner, which is always a plus early in the morning, right?

Review: MAC Eyeshadow in Woodwinked

Hi beauties! Today I will be reviewing one of the first MAC products I've ever had: MAC Eyeshadow in Woodwinked. I only own 2 MAC products *sad face*, I used one up (FIX+). I plan on ordering alot of MAC products online, soon!

I would describe this lovely color as bronze/gold. Not your ordinary gold eyeshadow. It's like a neutral/antique gold. Not too warm, not too cool. The perfect gold: it gives the perfect hint of it without being too much. It has a slight peachy-orange undertone. Being a veluxe pearl (not too frosty and not too matte) eyeshadow, it blends super easily: looks great with a dark brown color in the outer corner (ex: Dark Horse from the UD Naked Palette). If you have brown eyes, like me, it's one of those color that will make your eyes stand out, but it's a color that would look great on everyone.

As you can see, I've used this up so much cause it's just that GREAT! This is a color that will receive many compliments. In the pan, it might seems boring, but on the eyes it just magically brighten up the eyes.

Here are some swatches of Woodwinked:

Even the camera doesn't pick up the beauty of Woodwinked! All I can say, is that it's a great eyeshadow. And that I DO need more MAC eyeshadows/products! If you want a gorgeous antique bronze/gold eyeshadow that brighten up your eyes, this eyeshadow might be for you!

What's your favorite MAC eyeshadow?

Beauty Haul

Hey! So I have not been on a "shopping spree" for atleast a month I would say. But today, I felt like I felt like it was the time I bought myself some pressies!

Here's the 5 things I got.

Revlon Lash Potion Mascara in Blackest Black: I was super excited to see this. I won't lie, the super pretty packaging caught my eyes, don't remember the last drugstore mascara that I saw that was this gorgeous. It's suppose to be a volume and length mascara. I'm planning on doing a full review on it, so I won't say much right now.

Lise Watier Sweet Lips Yummy Lip Balm in Berries: I mean how cute is this packaging?!? They remind me of macaroons! I've used it once and I'm already in love with it. I will do a full review on it. (actually, I will probably do a review of everything here, because I'm super excited about everything.)

Revlon Lip butter in Pink Lemonade: Doesn't the name screams summer? I think so! I'm a big Revlon lip butters fan, so when I saw that they we're coming out with 4 new lip butters; I knew I had to get some. I've seen some swatches online and I knew that it was meant for me. I know I will be wearing it alot during the summertime.

Essence Vintage District Nail Art Decoration Kit: Essence is actually one of my favorite drugstore brand! For the cheap price, it's always high quality and they have different stuff from other drugstores brands! This kit includes 5 different types of decorations, which I cannot wait to try out!

Essence Vintage District Gel Eyeliner Set in Shopping @ Portobello Road: I would describe this as a dark teal color. This gel eyeliner comes with a brush. And as always, lovely packaging from Essence. I really want to try out more of this collection!

April favorites

Hi lovelies! Crazy how this year is going by! Can't believe it, feels like just yesterday it was January. In the month of April, I've been sick for almost like 3-4 weeks. So glad to be feeling better! So I haven't had the chance to experiment with a lot of makeup, so I'm sorry about that.

Revlon Brow Fantasy in Brunette: I really believe that doing your brows can frame/change your makeup. This includes pencil and a colored brow gel. If you're eyebrows are pale like me, or you just want more definition; this will be your best friend - two steps and voilà! It will make your eyebrows stand more while still looking natural, if that makes any sense.

Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner in Nude: This is great to wear on the waterline. It does not stay on all day but there's no eyeliner this color on the market (I think) so for the price, we can't complain.

Maybelline Masterduo by Eyestudio liquid eyeliner: This dual tip eyeliner is great for cat eyes/winged eyeliner. A super pigmented black and glossy eyeliner. You can use either the flat disc side for a thick dramatic line or just turn it around and get a more sophisticated thin line.

Benefit They're Real mascara:  One of my all time favorite mascara. I'm almost out of this and I'm gonna buy the full size once I run out. This is such a jet-black/glossy mascara. Volume/length. The custom-domed is one thing that makes this mascara outstanding: you can get precise applications for those tiny lashes you can't usually get.

Maybelline Vivids: I love these! They are perfect for Spring/Summer. For now, I have two: Fuchsia Flash and Pink Pop. I don't want to do a mini review right now, cause I plan on doing a full review soon - I want some more! What are your favorites?

Lise Watier: Ombre Soufflé Supreme in Taupe Fantasia: Lise Watier, I believe, is a brand that is only sold in Canada. This, is such an unique product. Never anything quite like it yet: Long lasting eyeshadow part cream/part mousse. It's a light airy formula.

Physicians Formula eyeshadow palette in Nude: This palette comes with 9 eyeshadow, separated by sections of 3 to create 3 different looks, but you can surely mix and match and create your own looks. This palette contains neutral/nude eyeshadows. When you swatch them they don't seem that pigmented but all together they look gorgeous!

Evian Facial Spray: I went through 2-3 bottles of these. I always get great deals on them! This facial spray moisturizes, refreshes and tones. It can also help to fix makeup. This is a great facial spray, especially for the Spring/Summer, I recommend it to everyone.

Hope you enjoyed my April favorites. What did you liked using during the month of April? x
