Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue // Review

It's no secret that I love Maybelline Baby Lips. So when I heard about those I was super excited! I actually got them both for Christmas, my peeps knows me so well! haha ;)

So basically Baby Lips Dr Rescue are medicated lipbalm with a hint of color that  helps with dry and sore lips... so let's see if it's true!

The two I have are:
* Coral Crave (very sheer pink coral)
* Pink Me Up (sheer medium-toned pink)

Pigmentation: These aren't pigmented. They are very sheer. They are promoted as having natural tints to provide healthier looking lips. Pink me up has a bit of tint but Coral Crave is basically invisble. I had a really hard time having swatches.

Scent: Dr Rescue's are from from the original Baby Lips. They aren't fruit, more minty, think Vicks. If you aren't a fan of a strong menthol smell I wouldn't suggest this to you.
Texture and staying power:

Texture & Staying Power: The texture of these are really thin as opposed to the original ones. They aren't as creamy and they feel a bit more greasy on the lips. The staying power isn't the best, it doesn't last long at all.

Overall, I do not feel like this product has made any difference for me. Might be that I don't suffer from dry lips. The color pay-off isn't really the best as well. It's an ok product. The disappointment might come from the fact that I'm a fan of the original Baby Lips formula. I feel like the original formula works better for me in term of dry and sore lips.

Maybelline Electro Baby Lips in Strike a rose

The second Electro Baby Lips to enter my collection. Strike a rose. A sheer coral-pink. Compared to the other one I have (Oh! Orange; review right here), this one is way more pigmented and moisturizing. My lips feel really soft after applying this one. For anyone who isn't familiar with baby lips, they are a tinted lip balm that comes with great shades, scents and packaging.

Baby Lips are the perfect tinted lip balms to add in your purse for the Summer as they aren't as heavy as lipstick. As they are lip balms the staying power isn't the best, but for balms I think it's good enough!

I can't quite explain what it smells like cause I have no idea, honestly. I know it smells like something familiar but I can't quite put my finger on it. Strike a rose is way different than other Baby Lips' formula in my opinion, the formula feels way more pigmented and moisturizing. The other ones feels more dry.

Strike a rose is one of those flashy colors that you can wear on a daily basis.

The Electro Baby Lips' packaging are so cute! Specially this one. The coral-pink writing looks so cute against the black.

What I love:

  • Pigmented
  • More moisturizing
  • Leaves my lips soft
  • Color
  • Packaging
What I don't like:
  • Staying power isn't the best

Here's a swatch of Strike a rose:

Summer Series || Favorite Lipsticks

Hi beauties!

I am so happy that I am finally getting better at organising my time so that I can blog more frequently. :) I hope you are enjoying my more frequent posts.

That being said, finding new and interesting thing to blog about is getting harder when you blog more I find. So I asked on Twitter: what should be my next blog post? And I got an answer from Ash B @ABeautyMoment saying I should do a post on my Fave Summer Lippies! So I was like that's what I'm gonna do! I've had that idea of doing a Summer Essentials of some sort, so I tought why not do Summer Series? So that's what I'm doing; I hope you'll enjoy my first blog series.

So this might seem like a big amount of lipsticks for just one blog post. But I had a hard time to limit myself and not picking like 30 lipsticks product instead of just 9. I tried putting just one of different brands (ex. just one Lip Butters, Baby Lips, Vivids) cause it would have been a long, overwhelming post. During the warmer months of the year, I like to wear brighter colors like pinks, coral, oranges, bright fuschias and all that jazz. You know.

From left to right

Revlon Lip Butter Peach Parfait:
A medium peachy shade with gold glitters. It's a unique color not something you usually find at a drugstore. It's a sheer color, but buildable. Some people don't like glitter in lipstick, and I'm not the biggest fan of that also, although they are noticeable; I still like it. It's one of my most used lipstick, I'm almost out of it and I will surely repurchase! I believe this is the first time I repurchase a lipstick.

Maybelline Color Whisper Coral Ambition:
I love how this a orange coral but not too orange, if that makes any sense. It:'s like a soft peach/pink coral. This is the perfect kind of coral for people that doesn't have the right complexion for coral although it'd suit anyone in my opinion.

Essence Coralize Me!:
Frosty pink with slight orange/coral undertones. It's not the longest lasting lipstick, but the unique color is what I really love about it! It's actually natural and perfect for the Summertime.

Maybelline Baby Lips Melon Mania:
In the tube, it looks like it'd be a bright pink, but it doesn't appear like that on the lips. It leaves a very, very sheer pink on the lips. Even if it's sheer it's smooth and comfortable on the lips but not tacky or greasy. Leaves glossy finish which I really like. Baby Lips are the perfect lip product for Summer, I could of included all my collection but that would have been too much, but I do have a review on my collection here.

Revlon Pink In The Afternoon:
Medium pink with hint of peach/coral. (From this post, I think it's obvious that I'm a big fan of anything coral) One of my all time favorite lipstick of all time. This is a pink that would suit all the skin complexion. It's super pigmented and creamy. The name reminded the song Nine In The Afternoon by one of my favorite band of all-time, Panic at the Disco! :) It's the perfect color for everyday!

Buxom Creamsicle:
A beautiful peach sorbet color. When applied on the lips it has tingling sensation with a smell of mint! Super pigmented, not sticky. It has a great staying power as well.

Revlon Coral Reef:
A milky orangey coral lipgloss. Super smooth and not that sticky. Semi opaque. Great lipgloss for Summer!

Covergirl Berry Twist:
Bright pink-berry shade. I don't know how to explain this but it's not really sheer while still being a bright color that you could wear everyday! So if you want to have a bright wearable color during the day, I highly suggest you this one.

Maybelline Pink Pop:
Bright pink with purple undertones. Reminds me of bubblegum, ahah! It's the perfect lipstick for a Summer night out down town. The formula is really high quality. The pigmentation is amazing as well.

Well there you go, my first post of my Summer Series, please do let me know if you enjoy those kind of posts! :)

What's your favorite lip product for this Summer? xo

Maybelline Electro Baby Lips in ''Oh orange!''

Hello everybody! Today I will be reviewing a new product that I'm super excited about. Maybelline Electro Baby Lips. Of course, Baby Lips are a cult favorite in the beauty world. Moisturising with a lovely shade/scent/packaging. This collection differs from other collection cause it includes unusual color for balms like yellow and green! Six new neon shades, that's what Maybelline has to offer with these lovely balms.

My sister was at Wal-Mart and called me to tell me that the Electro Baby Lips was at our Wal-Mart and she bought one for me! She picked ''Oh Orange!" for me!!

From this one, I believe that the formula is different; thinner and less moisturising... maybe that's just me or the fact that there's no SPF. Remember that these are balms with a tint so they're not as pigmented nor as good lasting power as a lipstick, for a balm I would say that it's a good staying power, last a few hours.

I believe that every scents is based on the color, because this one smells like oranges/citrus-y, not the best Baby Lips scent in my opinion.

Of course the packaging of these are super cute, black and the letters are in the same neon color as the lip balm. This color combination reminds me of Halloween though! Ahah!

As for the pigmentation, in the tube it looks like a SUPER bright orange but it's actually really sheer (I had a hard time getting a decent swatch on my hands). But it's really lovely on my lips, being a sheer formula it's a perfect sheer orange-y/coral color. Which is a GREAT color for the summertime! (minus the fact that they don't have SPF)

To conclude, if other shades are as great as this one I will surely repurchase! They are great product, with a great price.

REVIEW & SWATCHES | Maybelline Baby Lips

Hi beauties! Today I will be doing a review on the Maybelline Baby Lips. I am sure that you've seen blogger/gurus rave about these! As you are probably all familiar, they are a sheer tinted lip balm with wonderful smells and cute packaging. They have 6 original ones: 2 sheers, 4 with a tint (yes, I have all the 6 originals). They also have some limited editions one.

As I mentioned, the packaging is ADORABLE. For the name, Baby Lips, they really do make your lips baby soft while giving color to your lips without being too much. Those lovely lipbalms makes it seem like your wearing lipgloss without being sticky. The 6 original ones (6 first ones in the picture) contains spf 20, and I believe the limited edition ones doesn't contain spf (atleast the two I have don't). These are perfect for the upcoming summer, because they have spf and are really light and hydrating on the lips.

They are really easy to work with and they apply nicely. They are thin but they do not feel greasy on the lips.

Pigmentation: In the original Baby Lips they are two clear ones. The rest have a tint to them. They are not pigmented like lipsticks that's for sure. They are called lipbalm for a reason, I would call them balm with a tint. Some are more pigmented than others. The most pigmented one out of the one I have, I would say is Fruit Punch. The least pigmented I would say is Coral Crush, on my lips its almost inexistant; in the tube it looks super bright as Grape Vine, that looks like a super dark purple which in fact are not that pigmented. So don't be scared of the color in the tube, cause they are way more sheer on the lips.

Scents: One thing that Baby Lips is known for is their scents. And yes, infact, they have lovely smells. I'm not the best at describing scent especially with words so I won't even try. But the smells are quite similar to what they are named after like Fruit Punch, well, smells like Fruit Punch. The clear Baby Lips also have a smell Quenched smells wonderful; I can smell some lemon; I'm not a big fan of lemon but there's something about Quenched that makes me happy. Peppermint smells like well, strong peppermint which I absolutely adore.

How long do they stay on the lips?: This one is kinda of a bummer. They certainly do not last all day. They last about 3-4 hours for me. But on the positive side, it's really easy to apply anywhere/anytime without a mirror, since the application is super easy. Don't be scared of ending up with clown lips with those! ahah!

Original Baby Lips:
Pink Punch: Pigmented cool tone pink
Cherry Me: Warm pink
Grape Vine: Dark purple wine
Peach Kiss: Shimmery nude on the frosty side
Quenched and Peppermint: Clear *not on picture above*

Limited Edition Baby Lips:
Yummy Plummy: Brownish and plum shade
Coral Crush: Bright red orange

I love them all, but if I had to choose favorites, I would pick: Cherry Me, Peach Kiss and Yummy Plummy.

To conclude, I am super happy about my Baby Lips collection. For about 3 dollars, you really cannot go wrong with these. Super hydrating, nice smell, spf20, cutest packaging and nice colors. What more could you ask for?

Perfect red lips for the holidays

This Super Lustrous Lipstick from Revlon in the shade Fire & Ice is what I would call a perfect holiday lips. It's such a vibrant and classic red. You can't go wrong with it.
Bordeaux by Rimmel London is a bordeaux color (like the name said it!), if you would like more of a dark look but still have the holiday glamour. This is the one for you.
If you would prefer something more subtle and more easy to work with. This is a great red lipgloss! Essence XXXL shine lipgloss in the shade True Love is super pigmented and super easy to apply. I would say its a must-have for year-round.
Taylor Swift fan? Search no more, in an interview she said that this lipstick is her go to signature red. It's the Covergirl lipstick in Hot. I always wondered what red lipstick Taylor Swift had as her signature look, and now the secret is out!!
Revlon lip butter in Red Velvet, this is a really good option if you're not used to wear dark lips. Because you can sheer it out; like any other Revlon lip butter. It's a darker red but less darker than Bordeaux by Rimmel.
Baby lips by Maybelline are great for people who are only starting to wear lipstick, especially red lips, this is why Cherry Me, is a great color! If you want something not too dramatic for the holidays, but still have a nice touch of color this is the one for you!
Here are some swatches of them all:
