Summer Series || Favorite Lipsticks

Hi beauties!

I am so happy that I am finally getting better at organising my time so that I can blog more frequently. :) I hope you are enjoying my more frequent posts.

That being said, finding new and interesting thing to blog about is getting harder when you blog more I find. So I asked on Twitter: what should be my next blog post? And I got an answer from Ash B @ABeautyMoment saying I should do a post on my Fave Summer Lippies! So I was like that's what I'm gonna do! I've had that idea of doing a Summer Essentials of some sort, so I tought why not do Summer Series? So that's what I'm doing; I hope you'll enjoy my first blog series.

So this might seem like a big amount of lipsticks for just one blog post. But I had a hard time to limit myself and not picking like 30 lipsticks product instead of just 9. I tried putting just one of different brands (ex. just one Lip Butters, Baby Lips, Vivids) cause it would have been a long, overwhelming post. During the warmer months of the year, I like to wear brighter colors like pinks, coral, oranges, bright fuschias and all that jazz. You know.

From left to right

Revlon Lip Butter Peach Parfait:
A medium peachy shade with gold glitters. It's a unique color not something you usually find at a drugstore. It's a sheer color, but buildable. Some people don't like glitter in lipstick, and I'm not the biggest fan of that also, although they are noticeable; I still like it. It's one of my most used lipstick, I'm almost out of it and I will surely repurchase! I believe this is the first time I repurchase a lipstick.

Maybelline Color Whisper Coral Ambition:
I love how this a orange coral but not too orange, if that makes any sense. It:'s like a soft peach/pink coral. This is the perfect kind of coral for people that doesn't have the right complexion for coral although it'd suit anyone in my opinion.

Essence Coralize Me!:
Frosty pink with slight orange/coral undertones. It's not the longest lasting lipstick, but the unique color is what I really love about it! It's actually natural and perfect for the Summertime.

Maybelline Baby Lips Melon Mania:
In the tube, it looks like it'd be a bright pink, but it doesn't appear like that on the lips. It leaves a very, very sheer pink on the lips. Even if it's sheer it's smooth and comfortable on the lips but not tacky or greasy. Leaves glossy finish which I really like. Baby Lips are the perfect lip product for Summer, I could of included all my collection but that would have been too much, but I do have a review on my collection here.

Revlon Pink In The Afternoon:
Medium pink with hint of peach/coral. (From this post, I think it's obvious that I'm a big fan of anything coral) One of my all time favorite lipstick of all time. This is a pink that would suit all the skin complexion. It's super pigmented and creamy. The name reminded the song Nine In The Afternoon by one of my favorite band of all-time, Panic at the Disco! :) It's the perfect color for everyday!

Buxom Creamsicle:
A beautiful peach sorbet color. When applied on the lips it has tingling sensation with a smell of mint! Super pigmented, not sticky. It has a great staying power as well.

Revlon Coral Reef:
A milky orangey coral lipgloss. Super smooth and not that sticky. Semi opaque. Great lipgloss for Summer!

Covergirl Berry Twist:
Bright pink-berry shade. I don't know how to explain this but it's not really sheer while still being a bright color that you could wear everyday! So if you want to have a bright wearable color during the day, I highly suggest you this one.

Maybelline Pink Pop:
Bright pink with purple undertones. Reminds me of bubblegum, ahah! It's the perfect lipstick for a Summer night out down town. The formula is really high quality. The pigmentation is amazing as well.

Well there you go, my first post of my Summer Series, please do let me know if you enjoy those kind of posts! :)

What's your favorite lip product for this Summer? xo

Rimmel Apocalips: Celestial and Big Bang // Review

Hi lovelies! They are FINALLY available in Canada. I bought products I've been waiting forever to put my hands on the Rimmel Apocalips. I bought two but I want more!! The two I bought are Celestial and Big Bang.

I would describe the Rimmel Apocalips as melted lipstick (feels like a lipgloss, but has the coverage of a lipstick), but Rimmel claims it's the rich colour of a lipstick enhanced by a satin smooth shine & that it's neither a gloss or lipstick. The texture is like a velvety lip cream. The consistency of these products is great, it's super creamy and opaque. Super pigmented and creamy. The application is amazing. No problem at all with stickiness.

The packaging, name, formula and color selection is what made me buy the product! Never judge a book by the cover, they say, but I was pleasantly happy with these product! The smell remind me of cucumbers, it's an okay smell in my opinion.

The lasting power/color payoff of the Apocalips is amazing! It last a long time. Altough the glossy finish fades away throughout the day the color will last for a while.  What you see in the tube is what you will get on your lips, maybe even a bit more pigmented!!

In my collection of Apocalips at the moment I have two:

Celestial-
A pink mauve which a great neutral/every day/wearable color.

Big Bang
The perfect classic bright red with blue undertones. SUPER pigmented.

Overall, I can say that I am truly obsessed with Rimmel's Apocalips and that I actually want the whole collection of 8 shades. (wishful thinking) They we're so worth the long wait! I'm super stocked on these little gems!

Empties #3

Hey everybody! I'm back for another blog post. This time is an Empties. Yep, another one. Lately I feel like I've been using up so many products! To be honest, I haven't been buying any other product than what I need and the popular product of the moment. Because to be honest, my makeup collection is quite overwhelming right now plus, I need to save up for college. So let's get started!

Joe Fresh Nail Polish Remover Regular: Nail polish remover, one product I constatly use up. I don't really notice difference in nail polish remover unless it would remove my glitter nail polishes easily. But I can say it was a good nail polish remover and the bottle was convenient. (repurchase)

Dial NutriSkin Grape Seed Oil and Lemongrass Ultra Hydrating Body Wash: Wow, what a long name for a body wash aha! I really liked this body wash; it had a nice refreshing smell infused with micro beads of ultra hydrating while being natural light fruit oil! My skin felt healthy and refreshed after using it! (repurchase)

Evian Facial Spray: I think this might have been in my last Empties post! I love love love it! They we're on special for like 3$ at my local Wal-Mart and now I don't see them anymore so I hope they aren't discontinued or something like that. :( Anyhow, during the summertime I gotta have my facial spray-- it's a must-have for me! This will wake up, moisturise, refreshe and tone your skin in a splash! Can be applied over makeup and won't make it look cakey! (repurchase)

Makeup Wipes (Ponds, Garnier, Nivea): Makeup wipes are another 'beauty' product that I feel like I am always buying. I rarely notice any difference with makeup wipes usually, but out of the three I would say Nivea Aqua Effect Refreshing Cleansing Wipes are my favorite they leave my skin wonderfully fresh and clean!! (repurchase to all)

Bath and Body Works Pocketbac Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel: OMG! I'm like addicted to these. I cannot stop using them! The smells are all wonderful! Whenever I go to Bath and Body Works, I have to buy atleast one! aha! (repurchase)

Maybelline Clean Express! Makeup Remover: This eye makeup claims to remove waterproof mascara and to be honest, I rarely use waterproof mascara... so don't take my word on the waterproof part. But other than that it removed my eye makeup harsh-free and it doesn't contain oil-- so it doesn't leave a greasy residue.  Plus the packaging is so cute and pink aha! (repurchase)

Crest 3D White Multi-Care Whitening Oral Rinse Glamour White: When I saw this I was super excited cause this is less time-consuming than the Crest White Stripes. At the beginning, I was very pleased with it but I feel like the result didn't last long enough. Although I wasn't using it for less than 60 seconds (which is recommended), so I might need to try it for longer next time!

So, there you go. Now I can finally throw everything away!! Aah! :) Hope you enjoy those kind of post- if you have any suggestions please let me know in the comments section below!

Soap and Glory Hand Food

Well, now I feel like a true blogger! I've bought my first Soap and Glory product and not any product: Hand Food. Which is one of the most popular S&G product. Want to hear what I have to say, yeah? Let's go!

As every other Soap and Glory, to begin, how cute is the packaging and name? Makes me feel so luxurious and girly. The scent is great. It is kinda strong, smells like you're putting strong perfume on your hands. Myself, I'm not a strong perfume person and it doesn't bother and I think it's a great smell!

This hand cream contains Shea Butter, Macademia Oil and Marshmallow. If you're like me and dislike any thick and greasy cream well this is the total opposite. Sinks in really fast and leaves your hands soft. Although, I wouldn't say this is the perfect cream for intense moisturizing or dry skin. But if you have normal skin this is a perfect everyday hand cream with a wonderful smell. And it will leave your hand wonderfully soft.

I will surely buy more Soap and Glory product! Any suggestions?

Maybelline Electro Baby Lips in ''Oh orange!''

Hello everybody! Today I will be reviewing a new product that I'm super excited about. Maybelline Electro Baby Lips. Of course, Baby Lips are a cult favorite in the beauty world. Moisturising with a lovely shade/scent/packaging. This collection differs from other collection cause it includes unusual color for balms like yellow and green! Six new neon shades, that's what Maybelline has to offer with these lovely balms.

My sister was at Wal-Mart and called me to tell me that the Electro Baby Lips was at our Wal-Mart and she bought one for me! She picked ''Oh Orange!" for me!!

From this one, I believe that the formula is different; thinner and less moisturising... maybe that's just me or the fact that there's no SPF. Remember that these are balms with a tint so they're not as pigmented nor as good lasting power as a lipstick, for a balm I would say that it's a good staying power, last a few hours.

I believe that every scents is based on the color, because this one smells like oranges/citrus-y, not the best Baby Lips scent in my opinion.

Of course the packaging of these are super cute, black and the letters are in the same neon color as the lip balm. This color combination reminds me of Halloween though! Ahah!

As for the pigmentation, in the tube it looks like a SUPER bright orange but it's actually really sheer (I had a hard time getting a decent swatch on my hands). But it's really lovely on my lips, being a sheer formula it's a perfect sheer orange-y/coral color. Which is a GREAT color for the summertime! (minus the fact that they don't have SPF)

To conclude, if other shades are as great as this one I will surely repurchase! They are great product, with a great price.

Sephora Haul

Hi beauties! Long time no talk, I've been out of town camping for two weeks and I got back home yesterday. It was fun other than the fact that we didn't have wifi at our site so I couldn't blog at all, missed it so much! (don't want to see my iPhone bill-- eek!) But now I'm back at it and I'm kicking it with a Sephora Haul! During the two weeks we went out of town (again!) for a day and there's a Sephora over there. So of course I had to go.

I went in Sephora with the idea of buying Too Faced Natural Eye palette but there was none available. So I was like: hmm, which other palette do I want? Passed by Stila and remembered I wanted the ''In the light" palette.
I love details. Found this super cute. Plus it's exactly the quote I need at the moment. :) (Good job, Stila!)

believe in the beauty of the future. - sarah lucero

I don't want to talk about this lovely palette too much but it has 10 beautiful shades including the super-famous Kitten eyeshadow, a Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Damsel and a lookbook (looks you can recreate with in the light).

The palette was 50$ and I've already spent way too much money at other stores. So I tought I will only buy this for today, but of COURSE Sephora has to tempt us with all the cheap(ish) goodies when you're about to go pay. So of COURSE I picked up some things.

First thing I picked up this lovely tanning stuff duo, which features two travel-friendly sizes of Brazilliance skin rejuvenating maracuja self tanner and Amazonian clay mineral bronze in Park Ave Princess, all that for 12$.

Also, I bought Gettin' Cheeky kit which I was super excited to see for 20$ cause I've been wanting to try Posie Tint, Sun Beam, Cha Cha Tint (and Benetint, which isn't included but whatever...)! The packaging made me think the bottles would be bigger but they're not, but for the price I won't complain. I'm super excited to try these out!

And I recieved a sample of Laura Mercier Face Polish which is an exfoliator. Super excited about trying always love having samples! :)

Hope you will have nice week! Talk to you soon! Xx

Btw, can anyone tell me how do I add my name in a picture at the end of my blog post?! Thanks! :) Xx

Review: Benefit the POREfessional primer

Hi beauties! Sorry for the lack of post lately! I'm at the camping for two weeks and at our campground, for some reason, we can't seem to have the wifi. But sometimes I will go on my cellular data on my iPhone, so in the meantime, you can follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/sparklethiscity for updates.

I really wanted to do a June favorites but most of my stuff is at the campground and the few hours trip to home was short noticed so I didn't get the change to grab my stuff! But the other day I took pictures of many products that I want to review and Benefit the POREfessional primer is one of them so, let's get started!

I'm sure everyone in the beauty community knows about this primer. Benefit the POREfessional primer is one of the beauty product everyone seems to rave about. This lovely primer claims to  minimizes pores quicky, and it does that! I feel like it actually helped my pores in general also, so I could consider this a skincare product I believe. My skin has been acting better since I've started using this lovely primer.

When I don't use my primer, I notice a huge difference, my face isn't as smooth, poreless, soft as it is when I use this product. My skin looks better in general. As I said, I don't believe this is just a primer, it's also a miracle skincare product.

It has a nice smell, feels good on the skin: it has a silky feel to it. I have acne-prone skin and it doesn't break me out as other primers do. So as you can guess it's not an oily primer but a matte one. Doesn't feel greasy at all nor cakey. Plus if you have oily skin, it will help with that also. Another good thing is that it doesn't take time to dry; you can basically put your foundation on right after. It looks colored but it's transparent on the skin.

As all the other Benefit's product the packaging is super cute! Also, the name is super clever aha! Benefit has the best marketing!! :)

On another note, I feel like it's too expensive for the little amount that you get. I've had it for like 1 or 2 months and I've already used half of it. That's the only complaint I have about this primer.

Other than that, it's a wonderful product and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great primer that will minimize pores, make your makeup stay on longer, reduce shine all of that without having a cakey makeup!
