Revlon Colorburst // Matte + Lacquer balm

Hi! Today, I'll be reviewing the new Revlon Colorburst: Matte + Lacquer balm. I have a matte and a lacquer one to talk about. The first one, which is a matte balm is Unapologetic (matte bright coral). The second one, which is a lacquer balm is Coquette. (glossy soft bright pink with silver shimmer)  The new Revlon Colorburst Balms are very similar to the very popular Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Stain, but not the same textures.

First of, I really like how the packaging matches if it's matte or a lacquer. The application is great plus they are very pigmented. I feel like they don't stay on quite as well as the original balm stains, especially the lacquer one. They have a slight minty smell to it, but not too overpowering.

Unapologetic (matte bright coral): For a matte balm, I really like the fact that its not drying at all. Unapologetic is super bright and pigmented. This one will be perfect for the spring/summer.

Coquette (glossy soft bright pink): This one is great for everyday wear. The only downside is that is doesn't have a good staying power.

Overall, they are very great products. Very pigmented, very easy to work and very pretty shades. The only downside is the fact that they don't stay on for that long...

Empties #5

Hi everyone! I haven't realized I haven't blogged for the past 7 days! Time seems to go by so quickly that I just don't realize!

Today, I'll be doing an empties post!

1.  Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Sandstorm.
This is one powder that I constantly go back to, it's not expensive and it works pretty well. I've been using this since high school and whenever I don't know which powder to buy I go to this one.

2. Physicians Formula Organic Wear Pressed Powder.
Another powder - I wish I could finish my other beauty products as fast as powder ahah! Anyways, this powder was good, but not AMAZING for me to run out and repurchase. The packaging was in like thin carton or something and the cover broke...

3. Bath & Body Works Marshmallow Fluff Hand Sanitizer.
I love those! I'm obsessed with B&BW hand sanitizer. This one smells really good. I love the PocketBac ones but I also like the pump ones. I'm also almost done using another one...

4. The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum.
This is a pre-moisturiser treatment. It's really great. This has been the product that made me obsessed with serums. I also really want to try more of The Body Shop's vitamin E range.

5. Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti-Puff eye roller.
I really like using this! It actually works and really wakes you up in the morning. I will surely repurchase it once I'm done using all my eye creams.

Music Playlist

So this is the first time that I'm posting something (I think) about another thing that I really love: music! I felt like blogging something that wouldn't take too long and this seems like the perfect post. I need to take a break from all the homeworks, projects and studies I have to do!

Anyways, here are some of the music I've been loving for the past few weeks...

1) Ain't no rest for the wicked - Cage the elephant
2) Come with me now - KONGOS
3) Snap out of it - Arctic Monkeys
4) 505 - Arctic Monkeys
5) Sex and candy - Marcy Playground
6) Love me again - John Newman
7) Paradise City - Guns N' Roses
8) Babe I'm gonna leave you - Led Zeppelin
9) Whole lotta love - Led Zeppelin
10) Arabella - Arctic Monkeys

Honestly, there's sooo many types of music that I like, I could go on and on. Let me know if you like these kind of post and I could try to them more often :)

The Beauty Tag

I love doing a tag - it's relaxing and it gets your mind off of anything stressful! :) Hope you'll enjoy!

1. Do you remember your first make up item?
Not exactly - but I'm pretty sure it was something from NYC.

2. What kind of coverage do you prefer for your foundation?
I'd say light/medium coverage. Even if sometimes I would need more coverage, but I don't really don't feel comfortable with alot of coverage.

3. Favourite high end brand?
Can I say all of them? But I guess I'd say MAC, Urban Decay, NARS, Too Faced..  I could go on ahah!

4. Favourite drugstore/highstreet brand?
Maybelline, Revlon, Rimmel, ELF, NYX, Wet N' Wild.

5. What cosmetics brands have you always wanted to try but still haven't?
Chanel or Dior. I really want to try something from those brands. Especially Chanel. One day!

6. Do you wear fake eyelashes?
Sometimes. For special occasion or when I go out.

7. Is there any kind of make up you can't leave the house without?
Face powder and mascara.

8. What is your most cherished beauty product?
Probably my Urban Decay Naked Palette - Since my love for makeup has grown I didn't get the chance to go to a Sephora, cause we had none here. So when I went to New York, I finally got the chance to buy my Urban Decay Naked Palette at the Sephora in Times Squares. It was a special moment ahah!

9. How often do you shop for make up? Do you pick out a lot of products at once?
When I had a job, yes - I bought alot of products at once. But right now, not really. Can't say I'm on a spending ban but I'm trying to use and enjoy the product I already have. I still buy stuff from time to time but rarely all at once. Also, I rarely have the time to watch Youtube videos, sadly, but I guess it does help...

10. Do you have a 'beauty budget'?
No.

11. What type of product do you buy the most?
I love buying eyeshadow palettes at Sephora! Lately, I like trying out new skincare product.

12. Do you have a favourite place to shop for make up?
Sephora, MAC, Walmart, Target, Pharmacies...

13. If you could only buy from one brand, which brand would you choose?
That's a hard one. Probably MAC!

14. Which brand has the best packaging?
Benefit, Too Faced, NARS

15. Which celebrity always has great make up?
Lauren Conrad

16. Which do you apply first, concealer or foundation?
Concealer.

17. Do you like multifunctional products like lip and cheek stains?
Yes. I love benetint!

18. Do you apply your foundation with a brush, sponge or fingers?
Not always the same. I like using all of them. It depends on how much time I have.

19. Which foundation do you use the most?
I don't really think I have a favorite.

20. Do you use a make up base or primer for the eyes?
Yes - Urban Decay Primer Potion.

I'm tagging everyone!

Top 5 of 2013 - Haircare

I know, I know, I'm kinda late with this. I don't know why I forgot about my Top 5 of 2013 - Haircare part... I was planning on having more to my Top 5 of 2013 series, but I guess it's a bit too late now... So I'll just have one that is essential: haircare. I guess it's better late than never, right?

Hopefully you'll still enjoy. Here are my Top 5 of 2013:

*got2b beach trippin' salt-infusion waving spray*
I've been wanting to try a salt-infused waving spray for a while, but they're always too expensive. So I was super happy to find a drugstore alternative. I'm always wanting to make my curly hair, more on the wavy side... so I could say that this helps the case. It makes your hair look like you've spent the whole day at the beach (I wish). It gives a great wavy texture and still moisturise so it's not crunchy!

*Aussie Sydney Smooth Heat Protector + Leave-in conditioner spray*
I love how this helps straighten your hair with the heat protector and the leave-in conditioner helps to keep your hair silky smooth. A great 2-in-1 product!

*got2b smooth operator with cashmere smoothing hairspray*
First off, can we just take a moment to appreciate the packaging? Ok, now we can move on to the actual product... I've been loving this hairspray since highschool so it's not surprise that it's in my top 5. It's a hairspray infused with cashmere so it leaves your hair smooths, with no fly-aways and frizzies. It keeps your hair in place and it's not crunchy. The smell is amazing as well.

*TRESemmé FreshStart Waterless Foam Shampoo Moisturizing For Curly/Dry Hair*
It's a great alternative to spray especially when you have curly hair. The great thing that makes it easier for us, curly haired people, is that you don't need to brush it off. You can just use a towel.

*Aussie Hair Insurance Split End Protector*
Split end is a hair problem of mine. This product has helped me out to, atleast control more, my split ends.

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

Hi! Today I will be reviewing Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. It's a translucent gel primer that claims to erase pores. You apply this before your foundation or you can wear it alone.

I had high expectation for this. I love Baby Lips, so I was happy that Maybelline was adding a primer to their collection. Not alot of drugstore brands has primers. I tought: a pore eraser? that sounds cool, maybe it'd could replace my Benefit POREfessional primer. Not really...

I didn't feel like it did anything for my pores. It made my face oily. The texture isn't the best, it's way too thin. So if you have oily/combination skin, I would not suggest this... On a positive note, it might help applying/the look of your makeup.

So, I'd suggest that you skip the cute packaging and invest in a high-end primer.

Weekly loves

Hope you're all having a great March Break! Let's not talk about how it's almost over. Ah! :( Oh well, next thing, it'll be Summer Break, so that's great!

This week, I haven't been experimenting with makeup that March break. I was trying to focus more on skincare and haircare.

First off, I've been loving my latest lipstick Maybelline's Born With It that is a nice pink nude with a bit of shimmer and a bit frosty. It's similar to MAC's Angel but a bit lighter! Here's a swatch of Born With It:

I have also been loving my "It's a 10 miracle leave-in plus keratin treatment". If you're not familiar with It's a 10 product, it does 10 beneficial things for your hair. After shampoo and conditioner, on towel-dried hair, spray this all over your hair and comb through. I've noticed a difference every time I've used it on my hair.

I have been LOVING my skincare product from Yves Rocher in Hydra Végétal. I only have 3 products of that line and I can't wait to get the rest of it! :) Hydra Végétal is a great line for people that are missing hydration/water in their skin.

I do this routine every morning and nights.
First things first, I would clean my face with a cleanser or scrub. Then, I use the serum in Moisture Boost Concentrate (which I'm almost out, sadly.), while the serum is drying I apply the Fresh Gel Undereye bags. When the serum is dry, I apply the 24H Intense Hydrating Gel Cream.

So that is basically my skincare routine lately! My skin is moisturized and less dry since I've been using the Yves Rocher Hydra Végétal skincare line. I have discovered Yves Rocher lately and cannot wait to try more of the Hydra Végétal line and other products in general!

The five products face

You know when you're running late and you have less than 15 minutes to get ready? Or maybe you just want to have a natural makeup with just 5 products? Then if you have these 5 products or similar ones, you're good to go!

So to start of, for face makeup, if I want a really natural makeup look, I'm not gonna use a foundation. I'll just use a concealer, one that I'm really loving at the moment is my Benefit Erase Paste to hide under eye circle or any other imperfection. For a finishing powder I would use my MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder to even out my skin tone. For blush, I would normally go with a light pink glowy blush like Rimmel's Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in Pink Rose.

Now, for the eyes, eyeshadows would be the part we would skip. So I'd only use eyeliner, right now, I'm using L'Oréal Carbon Black Lineur Intense. To finish it off I'd use a voluminous mascara like Rimmel's Scandaleyes Showoff.

Monthly Goals // March

Can you believe it's already March? I feel like it was just yesterday we were celebrating New Years.

Anyway, I'm thinking of making this a monthly thing writing a post about my goals for the month. Because I think its great to have goals and when you actually write them, you are most-likely to accomplish them. So, today, I will be taking about my goals for the month of March.

1/ Blog more. During February, I basically didn't blog at all due to being to busy with college. Try to schedule more post in advance so it does not happen again.
2/ Start exercising, eat healthy and take walks. Get ready for summer, cause next thing we know its gonna be here!
3/ Make more time for myself.
4/ Learn to cook different things.
5/ Try to always be up-to-date with college work.
6/ Discover new music and put new music on my iPhone! Cause I don't even take the time to do it but I really should, cause it puts me in a good mood!

I could go on and on about goals but I think its more realistic and attainable to only have a few! Hope you're all enjoying your March break! And have a lovely month! :) XO

Empties #4

So, today is ''officially" the first day of March Break!! Hopefully you're all having a great day so far... What are your plans? For me, I don't have any major plans, just gonna catch up with a few things (specially my blog)... Other than that I'm just gonna go with the flow (as always) ahah!

Another empties post! I'm not sure if I've mentionned this before, but I'm trying to use up alot of my products. Not saying that I'm on a spending ban, it's just that I'm not buying that much beauty products and trying to use, rediscover and enjoy what I currently own.

I truly enjoy using up products/hitting pans on eyeshadow as it means I can buy more! ;) ahah, and I know that I used my money right! So today, I will present you 5 of these products and let you know if they're actually worth it.

Jergens Natural GLOW Daily Facial Moisturizer //
This product is one of my all time favorite! Specially during this time of the year where my complexion is way too pale for my taste! This is a face moisturizer that makes you appear more bronzey and doesn't look fake. Plus, it has SPF 20.

Pantene Pro-V Curl Defining Mousse //
In all honesty, this mousse was not my favorite at all. I didn't like the way it made my hair look.

Soap & Glory FOAM Call Shower & Bath Body Wash //
I really liked this body wash. Despite the price, it does last forever. I adore the smell of this. Its like a fruity smell with mint. I love that it has a pump as well.

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque //
This is the first masque that have made something for my hair. It is on the pricier side, but for a miracle product I don't mind paying the price. It smells gorgeous. I will surely rebuy it again!

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment //
Although the Macadamia masque was a miracle for me - I did not feel the same about this. It was okay, but I was expecting more...
